We attach great value to supporting our staff to develop and grow in their work through stimulating Professional Development Days, creative collaboration within and between departments, and coaching and peer mentoring.
We regularly support trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers and have a robust internal programme of support for Early Career Teachers, alongside a middle leadership programme to support those in post or aspiring to take on a middle leadership role.

Safeguarding
PGS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with previous employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants.

We are seeking to appoint a Sports Graduate Assistant to work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Sport, Assistant Director of Sport and Head of Physical Education to deliver an excellent standard of coaching in a range of sports, working with pupils throughout the Junior and Senior sections of the school. There will be opportunities to support in one or more of the following sports: netball, hockey, rugby, cricket, racket sports or athletics. The role will include a requirement to undertake general administration and support the smooth running of the department. This role will suit a new or recent graduate looking for experience in the field of sport and within a co-educational, independent day school.

We are seeking to appoint a School Archivist to be responsible for all tasks required to ensure the smooth running of the PGS school archive. The post holder will ensure the operation and development of school archives with responsibility for the acquisition, organisation, dissemination, protection and exploitation of resources appropriate to the school community, alumni and external researchers. The post is a part-time, term time only role for 2 days (15 hours) per week, to be worked flexibly.

We are seeking to appoint a well qualified Teacher of Learning Support from January 2026, although an earlier start date may be available. The successful candidate will have experience working with neurodiverse pupils with a variety of difficulties. Holding or working towards a level 7 specialist teacher qualification would be an advantage as would specific experience of supporting pupils with ADHD and/or Dyscalculia. PGS is an all-through school from ages 2½ to 18 and it is envisaged that this role will involve opportunities for work across all key stages and sectors of the school. This is a full-time vacancy but applications from candidates for a part-time teaching role of at least 0.6 FTE will also be considered.

We are seeking to appoint a well qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to assess and support pupils across the Junior and Senior School from January 2026, although an earlier start date may be available. Reporting to the Head of Learning Support (SENCO), the role holder will help remove barriers to academic progress and provide individually tailored learning and personal support to an agreed cohort of pupils. We welcome applications from candidates who can offer substantial experience working in a school or educational setting, ideally in a similar role. This is a full-time vacancy but applications from candidates for a part-time role of at least 0.8 FTE will also be considered.
