Trips & Visits

Experiencing a historic location, seeing the work of art up close, speaking the language every day – trips and visits enrich and enhance curriculum learning beyond the classroom.

At The Portsmouth Grammar School there are a wide range of trips and visits arranged for every year group. From Southsea Fire Station and Viviers Fish Market for our youngest children to Marwell Zoo, Ufton Court, London Palaces, World War heritage sites and the world beyond as they progress through the school.

The Junior School programme includes residential trips and off-site learning experiences providing the opportunity for the children to learn new skills, try new activities and learn about themselves.  Independence, co-operation and tolerance are all characteristics that are positively developed, and of course good times, memories and fun are all part of the package.

In the Senior School and Sixth Form the range of trips to support curriculum learning continues to give greater depth and understanding for the subjects being studied.  Senior and Sixth Form pupils are also given the opportunity to travel abroad to experience diverse cultures or as opportunities to improve their language skills.

We are also privileged to be able to take pupils to visit our partner schools in Uganda and Cambodia, giving them the incredible opportunity for community engagement and learning about global awareness and international development at a grass roots level. Trips such as these provide an invaluable experience and have a long-lasting impact on both our pupils and those in our partner schools.
