4 years ago, Ms Bryony Hart started to work with Sita Brahmachari and PGS Librarian, Dr Carol Webb on a literacy transition project for PGS pupils moving from Year 6 into Year 7 using Sita’s novel When Secrets Set Sail.
They soon realised that the project was impactful, so worked closely with National Literacy Trust to help develop the resource for the London Islington Borough. Ms Hart travelled up to London to help launch the project with teachers and shared all our resources and insights into running the project.
We are delighted to report that the project, which we ran on the Friday before half term with PGS Year 6s, is now going national.
"PGS was at the heart of this project," said Ms Hart. "I am so proud to see how our work can create positive change for pupils across the country."
