The U15 Girls Cricketers played in the first round of the Hampshire Indoor Tournament last Thursday at King Edward VI, Southampton (KES).

Three schools competed, PGS, KES and St Swithun’s. PGS defeated KES in the first match with impressive batting performances from Simone H, Ella J and Anna S. In the second match against St Swithun’s they batted first with Tilly S being the top scorer. With St Swithun’s requiring two runs to win in the final over, Ella J took a wicket with her first ball then followed this up with no runs being scored off her next 4 balls. With two runs still required of the last ball of the match, the St Swithun’s batter scored the required runs to win the match. In the final match St Swithun’s beat KES.

With all three teams winning one match it went down to runs scored and wickets lost over the two matches. PGS scored more runs and lost the fewest wickets so progress through to the next stage of the U15 Hampshire Indoor Tournament.

Congratulations to the U16 Squash team last week qualified for the National Squash Finals for the second year in a row, after beating Marlborough College and Exeter School.
