Season Underway

Over the last two weeks PGS Cricket has enjoyed fixtures against Churcher's College and King Edward VI Southampton. Our boys 1^st XI and 2^nd XI achieved victories against both schools with the 1^st XI beating Churcher's by 10 wickets. Joe S and Ben R carried their bats in the run chase.

The boys beat KES by 6 wickets with Captain Lucas H leading the way with three wickets. Special mention must go to Elliot H, 2^nd XI captain, for his 65 against Churcher's and his brilliant leadership and organisation of the team this term. We had our first Senior Girls 1^st XI match against Ryde on Wednesday. The girls will also be playing Lancing College on Saturday.

The U15's (Girls A team and Boys A & B team) achieved a clean sweep of victories against Churcher's. William A and Indie S starred with the bat for the A team. Finn P scored 50 for the B team. For the U15A Girls Simone and Hannah H each took three wickets.

Our U14A's defeated KES by 11 runs in the first round of the Hampshire Cup. The boys produced an excellent bowling. After PGS scored 117 KES were in control at 46 for 0 off 7 overs but a disciplined bowling and fielding display ensured they did not reach the wining total.

Our Year 7 Girls continue to make an excellent start to their PGS Cricket career. Their skill level, enthusiasm and energy has been a pleasure to watch during training sessions and matches. The U12A's defeated a strong Churcher's team with Anna V producing an excellent all-round display. The U12B's defeated KES with Evangeline S taking 6 wickets.

We look forward to a busy weekend with fixtures against Lancing College, Winchester College and Gordon's School.
