Rugby 7s
Last week saw the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7's take place for a variety of age groups, including our U18 Girls for the very first time. With perfect weather conditions every day, all of our teams performed admirably against stiff opposition.

U14 - Won 1, Lost 2
U16 - Won 2, Lost 1
U18 - Won 2, Lost 1
U18 Girls - Won 1, Lost 3
Netball and Hockey
Last Saturday the netball and hockey seasons came to a close, with a well contested set of matches for both sports with our neighbours from across the water, Ryde School. A well done and thank you to all of our pupils who have been committed to playing for PGS this term in those sports.
Year 13 Sports Celebration
Last Saturday also saw our annual Year 13 Sports Celebration at Hilsea, where Year 13 pupils and their families were invited to attend afternoon tea, with a chance to reminisce and celebrate their contribution to the sports programme at PGS. A thank you to all of the pupils and parents for attending and making it a lovely day. When the time comes, we are sure that our Year 13's will leave PGS with many fond memories of their sporting experiences over the years.
Netball and Rugby Awards
Our end of term sports awards for netball and rugby took place after school this week, with the usual age group reports, games and quizzes, pizza, and of course the presentation of awards for each team. Whether you were an award recipient or not, we would again like to recognise the contribution made by all pupils to the overall success of each team, and we look forward to your continued development.
Summer Term Sport
Looking ahead to next term, in what is a slightly shorter and condensed term to normal, our focus turns to cricket, athletics and tennis respectively.
Please do see the schedule of sports trainings here, and again we would encourage all pupils to commit to representing PGS next term. Parents are reminded to give as much notice as possible if their child is not available for a fixture.
The summer sports are set up to allow (as much as possible) pupils to participate in more than one summer sport, so whilst one may commit to cricket on Saturdays for example, there are also opportunities to attend the athletics training, tennis training and cricket training midweek.
If anyone is a keen tennis player (used to or currently plays at a club), please would you email Mr Hawkswell [email protected] or Mr Copeland [email protected]. We would love to get pupils involved in the school training and midweek matches for tennis.
On behalf of the Sports Department, a final thank you to you all and we wish you all a very happy Easter holiday.
